Dale Earnhardt Jr Wins The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Showdown

A Winless streak came to an end at Charlotte Motor Speedway as Dale Earnhardt Jr won the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Showdown.
Earnhardt advances into the All-Star race that will consist of winners from the 2011 season. With the showdown win Earnhardt secured his position and did not have to wait for the fan vote.
AJ Allmendinger also advances into the All-Star race by finishing second in the showdown.Despite the flat tire in the early portion of the race Allmendinger moved up to the front towards the end of the showdown. Both top two finishers are secured a starting spot.
This year’s fan vote went to Bobby Labonte driver of the No. 47 Toyota.
