Patrick will have to endure NASCAR’s biggest and longest race on the schedule, with 600 miles. The most she has competed in her time in NASCAR has been the Daytona 500 back in February.
Her most recent challenge was at the Lady in Black, Darlington Speedway. Patrick managed to make the most of her night there by keeping the car in one piece and finishing the race despite finishing a few laps behind. Darlington was only her second race out of a ten race Sprint Cup Schedule.
Heading into motorsports busiest weekend, Patrick will be doing double duty in Charlotte as she will compete in the Nationwide race Saturday and the Coca Cola 600 Sunday night. She’s used to competing in the Indy 500 this time every year but she needs to shift her focus on completing a giant task ahead of her.
Heading into the 600 Patrick will need to learn how to keep up with the competition in NASCAR’s longest race. It also happens to be her third race of the schedule and it can be the opportunity for her to learn the most about the cup car.
The race this weekend at Charlotte can help Patrick learn how to handle her car within the changes of the night such as track temperature and how to maintain calm within 600 miles.
