Kurt Busch will continue racing in the No.51 Phoenix Racing Chevrolet.
It was announced by Speed on Tuesday that car owner James Finch has decided to keep Busch as the driver of the No.51 car for the remainder of the 2012 season. The two meet Tuesday morning and the team posted a tweet on the Phoenix Racing twitter account confirming that Busch will remain with the team.
” We have met with Kurt. At the end of the day, we are racers so we’re going racing with Kurt and the #51 Phoenix Chevrolet,” said Phoenix Racing in the tweet. “We know adjustments have to be made but how we fix that is between Kurt and myself,” in reference to Kurt and owner Finch.
Busch and Finch had met to discuss their future together after a few incidents occurred involving Busch. Busch had been fined and placed on probabtion by NASCAR for his incident in Darlington. Then Busch had to serve a one week suspension after he lost his temper and had an outburst on a reporter in a post race interview in Dover after the Nationwide race.
Busch will be back in the No.51 car this Sunday when the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series goes to Michigan.
