Joey Logano continued his winning ways at Michigan by winning the Nationwide Series race on Saturday.
Logano captured his latest Nationwide win by winning the Alliance Truck Parts 250 this past weekend. He captured his fifth win in the Nationwide Series and sixth victory of the year. Logano has been making visits to Victory Lane since his Nationwide victory at Bristol.
In a crucial contract year Logano has been successful on the track capturing four wins within the last five Nationwide races. His win at Dover International Speedway led the way for Logano to transfer his Nationwide success over to the cup series the following week and capture his first win of the season in the No.20 car.
Logano broke the track record at Pocono Raceway and took the checkered flag within the same weekend but his winning ways didn’t stop there. Logano’s continued his recent success over at Michigan for the Nationwide race but it did not carry over onto Sunday since Logano finished 35th after a wreck.
Just within 2012, over in the Nationwide series Logano has win five out 15 races, even though he has only competed in 11 of them. He has won 3 poles and has six top 5’s and eight top 10 finishes. Over on the cup side he has a top five finish and five top tens. Three of his five top tens in the cup series have been within the last five races.
Logano’s season began with a couple of bumps along the way but his latest visits to Victory Lane may have secured his future in NASCAR. It was reported by ESPN on Sunday that Joe Gibbs Racing plans to sign Logano to a new contract. Gibbs wants to re-sign Logano and keep him in the No.20 car next season.
