It was announced Wednesday in a press release that Kyle Busch Motorsports had signed Germán Quiroga to race in four races. KBM will be fielding a second truck for Quiroga in the No.51. The team has found sponsorship for Quiroga in the four races with NET10.
Quiroga is a three-time NASCAR Mexico Series champion, the only driver to win multiple championships within the series. All of Quiroga’s championships where from 2009-2011, in three consecutive seasons. In 70 starts within the Mexico Series he has 16 wins, 52 top-five finishes and 60 top-10 finishes.
Quiroga made his NASCAR Camping World Trucks Series debut back in 2011 at Loudon where he finished 16th. His trucks debut was with Kyle Busch Motorsports and he also ran in the 2011 trucks series finale at Homestead where he finished 26th.Quiroga also has made a Nationwide Series start, back in 2007 when the series raced at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico. He finished 28th and led 12 laps in his home country track.
In the press release Quiroga mentions that he is excited about his opportunity with Kyle Busch Motorsports and is ready for a new challenge.
“I am very grateful to NET10 for making it possible for me to get back in the No. 51 Toyota for KBM,” said Quiroga. “In Mexico I am accustomed to winning races and competing for championships, and that is exactly what KBM does in the Truck Series. I’m very proud of all that I accomplished in the NASCAR Mexico Series the last five seasons, but I am ready for a new challenge.”
Quiroga is set to drive for KBM starting at Talladega, Texas, Phoenix and the 2012 trucks Series season finale at Homestead-Miami.
