Kenny Wallace is the latest of drivers to receive penalties from NASCAR.
Wallace and the No.09 team have been penalized Tuesday by NASCAR for infractions from Sunday’s Nationwide Series race at Chicagoland Speedway. The No.09 team was penalized for several infractions violating the NASCAR rule book.
Upon some of the pentalies on the No.09 team were violations for ection 12-1 for actions detrimental to stock car racing. Section 12-4J, any determination by NASCAR officials where race equipment used in the event does not conform to NASCAR rules detailed in section 20A and that have not been approved by NASCAR prior to the race. The No.09 team also failed sections 20A-2.3 for improperly attached weight as well as sections 20A-2.4B, where the car failed to meet NASCAR’s minimum weight requirements in post-race insections.
Penalties were spread around the team with Crew chief Scott Zipadelli has been fined $10,000 and placed on probation until September 5th. Car chief Travis Young was also placed on probation along with Zipadelli until September 5th. Both car owner Robby Benton and Kenny Wallace were docked six championship points from drivers and owners points for the infractions.
Wallace is currently racing a partial Nationwide Series schedule due to sponsorship issues.
