Cale Gale will lead the field to green at the world’s fastest half mile.
During Wednesday’s qualifying session, Gale earned his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series pole at Bristol Motor Speedway. Gale won the pole with a speed of 122.560mph in 15.656. Wednesday’s pole win is Gale first in his NASCAR career and first pole in his second appearance at Bristol.
Joining Gale in the front row will by points leader Timothy Peters. Rounding out the top five are Todd Bodine, Brad Keselowski and Ryan Blaney.
Last weekend’s winner at Michigan, Nelson Piquet Jr., qualified inside the top ten in sixth.
Second in the point standing, trucks rookie Ty Dillon qualified 12th.
During Wednesday’s trucks qualifying session, 40 trucks were trying to secure a starting spot in the Wednesday night race. Four trucks failed to qualify. Grant Enfinger, Brandon Knupp, Clay Greenfield, and Jennifer Jo Cobb, who made her 50th trucks start at Michigan, failed to qualify.
Chris Jones and Russ Dugger qualified into the 36 trucks field by owner points.
Closing out the top ten are Piquet, Matt Crafton, Joey Coulter, Parker Kligerman, and Johnny Sauter.
