Joey Logano Captures The Checkered Flag At Bristol
Joey Logano accomplished a feature at a track he was winless at.
Logano captured the checkered flag at Bristol Motor Speedway Friday night after getting the lead from Kevin Harvick. Harvick led for several laps with Logano right behind. The win was Logano’s sixth win in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2012. The win is also’s Logano’s seventh of the year in all of NASCAR’s national series.
Harvick, Ricky Stenhouse Jr, Kyle Busch, Austin Dillon and Elliott Sadler closed out the top five.
The night’s final caution came out when Dillon and race pole sitter Trevor Bayne had contact. The collision between the two driver brought out the night’s ninth caution. Bayne would finish the race in 16th.
Heading towards the checkered flag in the final restart, Sadler and Stenhouse had contact, which sent Sadler back a couple of spots.
Heading out of Bristol Sadler continues on top of the point standings with 19 points over Stenhouse. Sam Hornish Jr. continues in third followed by Dillon.
Rounding out the top ten were Cole Whitt, Ryan Blaney, Michael Annett, Danica Patrick, and Hornish.
