Aric Almirola Makes Truck Series Return In Atlanta

By Christy Valdez

Aric Almirola will be the latest driver to make his return to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

For the Friday night race under the lights at Atlanta Motor Speedway Almirola will be making his truck series return in the No.5 Ford truck. Almirola will be racing for Wauters Motorsports in the Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips 200, as announced in a press release by Wauters Motorsports Thursday.

Almirola has not made a truck series start since the 2010 NASCAR season, where he finished second in the point standings behind 2010 champion Todd Bodine.

During the race weekend, Almirola will be pairing with Richie Wauters as his crew chief Friday night. Almirola and Wauters have won two truck races back in 2010 at Dover and Michigan.

In his last start at Atlanta in the truck series, Almirola had a third place finish in 2010.

Wauters Motorsports will have backing and sponsorship for Almirola in Jordan Truck Sales.

Along with the Friday night truck race, Almirola will be competing in double duty. He will be competing Sunday in the Advocare 500 in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, with Advocare as his sponsor on the No.43 Richard Petty Motorsports Ford.
