Kurt Busch Will Drive For Furniture Row Racing In 2013

The saga of Kurt Busch has another chapter as the former champion has reached a deal to drive for a new team in 2013. That team would be Furniture Row Racing, which means Busch will be handling the 78 car next season.

There have been a lot of rumors about the future of Busch, but this move makes a lot of sense.  FRR might not seem like a big team off the first glance but having some tech support from Richard Childress is a big deal.  The team should be very competitive with a guy like Busch wheeling the car.

I actually expect Busch to win some races next year.  This year, it was just way too much to overcome.  I had some friends (Dustin Lewis, here’s your first article shout-out) try to tell me that Busch was going to make the Chase in 2012.  As laughable as that was, I think he has an outside shot in 2013.

The team should be better and I think Busch has learned a lot this year.  He has always known how to drive a car but this year was a great mental year for him.  He had a lot of trials and tribulations and he never had a complete and utter meltdown.  I guess we can count that as progress as far as he goes.

This is probably just one of many driver moves still to come.  It is like a round of musical chairs.  Hopefully your favorite driver isn’t the one left in the cold.
