NASCAR Opens Up Voting For Most Popular Drivers
With the 2012 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup and the end on the season currently under way, each series most popular driver is now in the hands of the fans.
It was announced on Thursday by NASCAR, that voting for the NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for each series’ popular driver is now open. For the fifth year fans will be able to vote for their favorite driver from both series by voting on NASCAR.com.
Voting for the trucks and Nationwide Series most popular driver is now open and going on from September 21 until November 16, heading into the season finale races for both series. Meanwhile voting for most popular driver remains open, fans will be allowed to vote once a day.
Along with fans input on their favorite drivers, NASCAR is also making a contest for fans as they vote for their favorites. Fans will have the opportunity to win a trip to the Nationwide and Truck series awards show following the championship weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Voting for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series most popular driver has not been announced as of yet.
Past winners from both the NASCAR Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series include Elliott Sadler, Austin Dillon, and Ron Hornaday. Nominees for both series include all the series regulars, and drivers who are collecting points in each series.
