Elliott Sadler To Start From The Pole At Charlotte

The NASCAR Nationwide Series is back after a week’s hiatus and Elliott Sadler will lead the field to the green flag at Charlotte Friday night.

During Friday afternoon’s Nationwide qualifying session, Sadler won the pole for the Dollar General 300 when he qualified at 184.238 moh in 29.310 seconds. Sadler’s pole win on Friday was his fourth of the 2012 Nationwide Series, 14th of his career.

Joining Sadler on the front row will be his Richard Childress Racing teammate Austin Dillon. Joey Logano qualified third followed by Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kevin Harvick to round out the top five.

During Friday’s Dollar General 300 qualifying session, 47 cars attempted qualifying laps to make it into the field. T.J. Bell, Joey Gase, Matt Carter and Morgan Shepherd failed to make the race.

Kyle Busch, Brian Scott, Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski and Sam Hornish Jr. close out the top ten.

Heading into Charlotte, Sadler goes in as the points leader. Stenhouse currently sits in second with nine points behind Sadler.Dillon is not far back and sits in third with 25 points behind the leader. Hornish Jr. is still in contention with 60 points behind the leader and in fourth place.

Charlotte will be race number 29 in the 2012 season. Five races remain in the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series before it is all said and done.
