Martinsville Speedway is all about having fun, bumping and banging into those tight hairpin turns. David Ragan, driver of the No. 34 Ford for Front Row Motorsports, has struggled adjusting to the smaller team this season.

But, sponsorship has expanded into a completely new form for the Unadilla, Georgia native.

Waldo is on the beach and a car at the same team? Yeah that’s how clever the small three-car team out of their Statesville, North Carolina shop.

“Where’s Waldo?” will adorn the No. 34 Ford Fusion this weekend at Martinsville with a special paint scheme which will feature Waldo on the hood with the rest of the car featuring a scheme that would seem like it came out of one of the books.

“Waldo is such a powerful icon. From waiting rooms, to classrooms, to both road trips and afternoons at home, I think most of us have sat down and tried to find Waldo at least a few times. This is probably the most unique paint scheme I’ve ever had on one of my cars.  A partnership with Where’s Waldo? alone would have been very cool, but to have the entire car designed as an actual mural – that is just awesome,” Ragan said in a Front Row Motorsports Press Release from the end of July when the announcement was made of the special scheme.

The scheme is rare as there is not a blank spot on the race car. For a team that hasn’t exactly been properly funded since its inception a few years ago, this is a step in the right direction. The team has welcomed several new sponsors to the sport this year and continues to do so.

David Ragan is currently 27th in driver points and the No. 34 team is currently 29th in owner points entering Martinsville, safely inside the top 35 for the remainder of the season.
