The 2012 NASCAR season has provided Joey Logano to reach a couple of milestones in his career, even giving him the best season of his entire career.
After starting the season with his future past 2012 unknown, Logano would go on to have one of his best seasons in five years. The 2012 season would allow Logano to accomplish a feature he had not done previously in his career as well as accomplishing another that he had been waiting for since 2009.
The 2012 season has allowed Logano to set records of his own within his career, beginning with the Nationwide Series. While only making 19 starts in a limited Nationwide Schedule, Logano has won eight races. His eight victories this season surpass his best of five wins in 2009.
In the 2012 Nationwide season alone, Logano has also won five poles. Within those five poles, he has managed to visit victory lane for one of the front row starts. The other times it has been three top-five and two top ten finishes from the pole.
Logano also joined a couple of drivers on achieving at least eight wins in a season, joining the likes of Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards.
The 2012 has provided Logano the opportunity to win at Fontana, Talladega, Darlington, twice at Dover, Michigan, Bristol, and Charlotte.
Logano also saw success in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. During the first of two Pocono races, Logano captured his first Cup win of the season, the second of his career. The win at Pocono kept him in contention for a chase spot, but failed to make the final 12 drivers in the chase.
With all his accomplishments and success within the series’, in the Nationwide Series Logano has given car manufacturer Toyota eight of their nine victories. In eight wins and 19 starts Logano has made his starts in the No.18 and No.20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyotas.
As the 2012 season comes to it’s closing stages, Logano will be racing in his final races with JGR as he will make his move to Penske Racing in 2013.
