The newest Sprint Cup Series team will make its debut to the track this upcoming Sunday when David Reutimann enters the No. 44 Xxxtreme Motorsports car at Phoenix International Raceway.

The Xxxtreme Motorsports Ford Fusion, sponsored by No Label Watches, will be under the control of veteran racer Reutimann. So far this season, Reutimann has bounced around from team to team, including runs with BK Racing and Tommy Baldwin Racing, while participating in 23 different races. His best finish on the season was 11th at Daytona back in July while driving the No. 10 car.

Reutimann began the year without a team after he was handed his pink slips from Michael Waltrip Racing, who filled the void with Mark Martin and Brian Vickers.

Frankie Kerr, formerly of JTG Daughtery Racing, is expected to serve as the crew chief for Xxxtreme Motorsports, which will be based out of the old TRG Motorsports shop centered in Mooresville, North Carolina.

According to car owner John Cohen, the No. 44 Ford will finish its 2012 campaign at Homestead-Miami speedway and is slated to run a full season in 2013.

“I’m looking forward to the 2013 season and building a solid program,” Cohen said.

Now with his third team of the season, Reutimann will be looking to secure some semblance of stability with Xxxtreme Motorsports and the No. 44 Ford. We’ll see soon enough whether he can yield the results that the team is looking for as they try to assert themselves as competitors in the Sprint Cup Series.
