NASCAR Releases 2013 Truck Series Schedule
The 2013 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule is now complete and ready for next season, when the Truck will head into new territory.
NASCAR released the 2013 Truck Series schedule on Wednesday, announcing the addition of two new tracks into the schedule. Next season, the Trucks will be making their debut on dirt as well as in their first race outside of the United States.
One of the tracks added into the Trucks schedule is Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. The .5-mile track owned by Cup Series driver and three-time Cup Champion Tony Stewart will host the Trucks in the first of two Wednesday night races in 2013. The trucks’ first dirt race will be held on July 24.
Another first for the Trucks next season will not only be the series’ first race outside the U.S., but it will also be the Truck’s first road course race not on U.S. soil. The 2.459-mile Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville, Ontario will be the host of the trucks race on Sept. 1. The 10-turn road course is the first road-course to host a truck series since 2000.
It will also be the seventh consecutive season that NASCAR will race at a Canadian racetrack.
Other changes for the truck series in 2013 will be lowering the age restriction at road-courses and tracks measuring 1.1 miles in length or less. The age limit will be lowered to 16 as the current minimum age to compete at the national series level is 18.
