The 2013 NASCAR season is just days away and with a new season new changes and surprises are on their way.

In the upcoming season NASCAR is debuting new changes, the new sixth generation cars, new races and new racetracks. Along with these changes NASCAR also decided to let fans have more control this season. Previously fans have had plenty of say but at the start of the year fans can decide on what they would like to see at the upcoming Sprint Unlimited.

At the Sprint Unlimited, previously known as the Budweiser Shootout, will feature fan input as they can decide how the 75 lap non-points race will go. NASCAR is allowing fans to vote on how the race will be designed in aspects such as the number of laps in each segment, the type of pit stop a team can make after the first segment and how many cars get eliminated following the second segment.

Fans can cast their votes online at NASCAR.com/sprintunlimited or through the NASCAR Mobile ’13 app through Wednesday Feb. 13.

The new race format for the upcoming Sprint Unlimited is a great opportunity for NASCAR to connect with fans. Not only will fans get to pick what they would like to see but gives NASCAR the chance to get feedback from fans. For 2013 NASCAR has brought the new Gen-6 car so fans could see their favorite manufacturers better represented, and added new races because it was what fans wanted to see.

In the past fans have gotten the opportunity to vote for who they would like to see in the All-Star race as well as the vote for most popular driver in each series. With the Sprint Unlimited it is one more chance for fans to have their voices heard and to connect with NASCAR.
