It’s official! Danica Patrick will return to the NASCAR Nationwide Series for the season opener in Daytona. Patrick will pilot a fourth entry for Turner Scott Motorsports in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race behind the wheel of the No. 34 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet Camaro.
“I’m looking forward to competing in the Nationwide Series race at Daytona driving the No.34 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet Camaro,” Patrick said. “Turner Scott Motorsports is a great organization and they’ve got great people to work with. I really have to thank everybody at GoDaddy for this opportunity. They are always so supportive of what I do.”
The DRIVE4COPD 300 is the season opener for the Nationwide Series and one of the many races taking place during Daytona Speed Weeks. Her crew chief will be Mike Greci. Patrick with be competing for the Rookie title while competing full time in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Patrick has three top-five starts at the Daytona Beach, Fla. track, including one pole award, which she earned in the first race of the 2012 season.
Turner Scott Motorsports has a very good record over the last year at the famed speedway. They are the defending winner of the February race and 2012 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion James Buescher claimed his first NASCAR Nationwide series win at the season opener in 2012. Patrick’s TSM teammates for the in the 300-mile restrictor plate race will be Justin Allgaier, Kyle Larson and Nelson Piquet Jr.
