Comedian Jeff Foxworthy is bringing his name and brand of chips to the NASCAR Nationwide Race in at the Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend. Yes, we can all say it: “You might be a redneck if … you live the dream of sponsoring your own NASCAR race!”

Foxworthy’s Original Grit Chips will sponsor the spring NNS race at Bristol for the next four years. This will be Foxworthy’s newest venture into NASCAR. His Original Grit Chip snacks were the title sponsor for last August’s Camping World Truck Series race at Atlanta.

The race is shaping up to be a good one with a tight NNS points race, and this being only the fourth race of the season. Sam Hornish Jr. brings his points leader status to the high banks of Bristol. He extended his points lead, which he has held since Daytona, to 19 points over Justin Allgaier, Elliott Sadler and Brian Scott.

Foxworthy is known for being a big NASCAR fan and commented during the announcement for the Bristol race that sometimes things come together.

“The stars must be aligned perfectly,” Foxworthy said. “This is a great pairing, the kind of thing you don’t see coming; but it seems right when it does. Plus these darn (Original Grit) chips are good, and now I get ’em half price!”

Yep, Foxworthy fits perfectly into the sport of NASCAR. He can make a comment and get a product mention in at the same time. All he has to learn how to do is thank his crew.

In the words of Jeff Foxworthy, “You Might Be a Redneck if … you think the last words to the Star Spangled Banner are ‘gentlemen, start your engines’.”
