Another week of NASCAR controversy has come and gone. The Sprint Cup Series now heads to Kansas Speedway for the STP 400 this Sunday. There are many drivers going into Kansas with added ambition and enthusiasm after the race at Texas. Some like Kyle Busch are riding a huge wave of momentum into Kansas, while others like Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski are going to be forced to prove themselves after huge penalties where delivered upon their teams by NASCAR officials.

Last week was as close to a standard fantasy NASCAR weekend as can be as all who could be predicted to do well came though for the most part. Fantasy king Jimmie Johnson finished in the top ten, Greg Biffle was dominant at Texas and pulled off a top five finish, and Kyle Busch, winner of the pole with a new record qualifying lap, went on to be a powerful force that would win thanks to a late caution.

Now this week headed into Kansas, the suggested fantasy picks aren’t so very different from last week’s as the track is also a 1.5 mile track, the standard fare for NASCAR. However, Kansas was recently repaved so old stats are hard to rely upon. What is clear is most of the standards for this year are reliable this weekend. This includes indignant reigning champ Brad Keselowski, Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle, and Matt Kenseth. Ol’ Smoke Tony Stewart would be a great choice if this season wasn’t going so horrendously for him.

My personal picks are going to include Brad Keselowski because I like the way the 2012 Sprint Cup Champion drives when under pressure, and he certainly is under some now.  I’m also going to suggest Biffle as he has made a very solid run again at the beginning of this season. While you can question whether he can keep it up towards the end, he is running well at the moment. Of course, as usual, if you have the space then it’s a good idea to place Jimmie Johnson on your team. You just can’t argue with Five Time’s stats.
