The Kyle Busch Show is in full effect and it has left the memory of a horrible 2012 NASCAR season behind.

As the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads into Kansas Speedway for another weekend of racing, Busch heads in as one of the most improved drivers of the year so far. With the race at Kansas just hours away from the green flag, Busch is in the right position to continue his improvement.

Throughout the 2012 season, Busch had no luck whatsoever whether he was racing in the Cup Series, Nationwide or Trucks Series and the year did not work out so well. Last season there were too many engine problems and missed opportunities, but the hardest hit for Busch was missing the chase. Once the season ended and a new year in 2013 arrived, so did lady luck.

Since the start of the year, Busch has gone back to his winning ways and has visited victory lane more times than any other driver in the year in any of NASCAR’s Series. The dry streak ended at Daytona in the Duels and it marked Busch’s first victory of the year.

In just the first six races of the Nationwide Series, Busch has gone on to win four and has visited victory lane on three consecutive occasions with Texas as his most recent.

Within the Cup Series, Busch has been a repeat winner in 2013 with wins at Fontana and Texas. He has won two poles and won from the pole at Texas in dominating fashion.

In this season alone he has already swept the race weekends at Fontana and Texas with wins in the Nationwide Series and Cup.

His improvement throughout the first part of the Cup Series has him on top of the point standings which is nothing compared to his performance last year at this time. After capturing the win at Texas, Busch made himself a contender by moving into third place in the points. Following a penalty towards defending Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski, Busch was the biggest beneficiary as he moved up another spot to second in the points.

During the weekend at Kansas, Busch can continue working his way up and close the 18 point gap between him and points leader Jimmie Johnson.
