Fantasy Drivers for NASCAR Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond International Raceway

By Jake Thompson

This week, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is gracing Richmond International Raceway with its presence this Saturday evening for the second night race of the 2013 season. Matt Kenseth has grabbed the pole for this race as he did last weekend showing the dominance of his team this year. While he received what he thought of as an unusually harsh penalty for an engine infraction found in the post -race inspection, he will try to pick up another win this weekend to regain the Chase bonus points that he lost.

This weekend as far as Fantasy NASCAR teams go I think the picks are quite clear. One of the best picks you can make this week is simply Kyle Busch. This Joe-Gibbs-Racing driver won this race last year for his only win of the year. He also has won here on three other occasions in 2009,2010, and 2011 in this very race.

Another strong pick for this weekend would be Denny Hamlin if the driver weren’t still out healing from a back injury. Brian Vickers, who is driving in his place, is a solid pick as this race team knows Richmond inside and out.

Another great pick for this weekend is Clint Bowyer who won at Richmond in the race last fall before the Chase for the Sprint Cup began. Bowyer also qualified fifth so will have key position to head to the lead.

For a good value pick Aric Almirola, who sported a classic Richard Petty paint scheme last Sunday, is your best bet as he starts 34th yet has posted very solid results this season and can climb enough to get you some quality pass points.
