Fantasy NASCAR Picks for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway

On Sunday evening the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series gets revved back up for the Coca-Cola 600 race at Charlotte Motor Speedway after a week off of points racing. This last weekend CMS hosted the Sprint All-Star Race instead of a points garnering race.

Veteran Jimmie Johnson won the All-Star Race for the second time in a row and for the fourth time overall. Johnson was only able to win in the last ten laps of the five segment race as the other segments were won by Kurt Busch and little brother Kyle Busch. In the final mandatory pit stop Kurt Busch had a slow stop which was considered to have lost him the key position that he could have taken to the win.

The return to points racing in the Coca-Cola 600 also means a return to the NASCAR Fantasy Live. For this week the picks are clearer than those at other tracks. Now considering the breadth of the season thus far there are two high end picks that should be solid here this week. Both Jimmie Johnson and Matt Kenseth should have some solid finishes even if they don’t vie for the win. Johnson will be coming off the All-Star win while Kenseth will still be carrying the momentum from winning at Darlington.

Another great established pick is Kasey Kahne who won this race last year and has won at Charlotte multiple times. Kahne will be starting in sixth so he will certainly have a chance to contend early and often.

Some nice value picks for the night at CMS are Joey Logano and Aric Almirola. Logano actually has the best average finish at this track and will have plenty of chances for quality passes starting in 31st position. Aric Almirola has been solid all year, and finishing in the top ten could keep him in the top ten in points.
