This Sunday, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series makes its way to Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania for the running of the Party in the Poconos 400. The weekend has so far been marked by heavy rain that has cancelled and postponed many on-track activities. In fact, qualifying was rained out as a consequence so the field was set by points standings.

This starting order puts dominant Jimmie Johnson in the pole position with runner up to the points lead Carl Edwards beside him on the front row. This could be very dangerous for the rest of the field after last week's race at Dover where Johnson was the class of the field for the entire race.

It was only a black flag restart by Johnson over Juan Pablo Montoya that denied the veteran five-time champion from winning his third race of the year. Montoya has put together a very good season so far with two runner-up finishes this last weekend to Tony Stewart and at Richmond to the Closer Kevin Harvick.

Heading into this race at the tricky triangle that is Pocono Raceway, there are many drivers who could critically need a win to cement their Chase chances for the year. There are also others who would simply like a win to make up some of the vast point gap between leader Johnson and the rest of the drivers. These are some of the drivers that could seriously use a win in the Party in the Poconos 400.

The veteran driver of the No. 24 could really use a win to make sure that he can definitely grab a wild card spot if he hits a rough patch later in the season.

Joey Logano

The young Logano was able to pick up a win here last year in Joe Gibbs Racing equipment and still has yet to validate his new-found success with Penske Racing in victory lane.

Last week at Dover, the reigning champ was able to pull out his first top-10 and top-five finish in weeks he could certainly use a win as he sits on the edge of wild card territory in tenth.

Carl Edwards

Edwards has been fast in practice this week. If he could capture a win here, he could make up some space on Johnson who is still way out ahead of the rest of the field.

Denny Hamlin

More than anybody else, Hamlin desperately needs a win here after a rough finish at Dover. If Hamlin doesn't start picking up wins he won't make the Chase.
