As the NASCAR community prepares to celebrate the life of driver Jason Leffler on and off the racetrack, a ceremony in his honor has been set.

USA Today reports that a funeral for Leffler has been scheduled for Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius, N.C. Leffler, who had raced in three of NASCAR’s top series, died in a sprint-car crash at Bridgeport Speedway in New Jersey on Wednesday.

As details of the funeral for Leffler continue to come out, a trust fund has been established for Leffler’s son, 5-year-old Charlie Dean.

Donations for the trust fund for Charlie can be made to The Charlie Dean Leffler Discretionary Trust at SunTrust Bank: 232 Williamson Road, Mooresville, N.C, 28117.

The trust fund set up for Leffler’s son will be monitored and administered by Turner Scott Motorsports co-owner Harry Scott Jr., along with former Braun Racing owner Todd Braun and Great Clips chief financial officer Steve Overholser.

With NASCAR teams and drivers honoring and remembering Leffler this weekend with a moment of silence prior to the green flag and with decals honoring him on the cars, the trust fund set up for his son is one of the great ways to honor him. For Leffler, his son was the main person in the world for him and with the news of Leffler passing away this week all thoughts went toward young Charlie.

Securing a fund for Leffler’s son is the perfect way to honor him along with the pre-race ceremonies and with the dedications on the car.
