The summer portion of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series continuing to heat up and make the competition more aggressive as the countdown to the Chase is underway. While the stars of NASCAR prepare to race their way to the chase under the lights at Daytona, they’re not going to be the only ones in the spotlight.
With a return to Daytona International Speedway, it means that it is time for the Daytona Summer Classic during the July 4 holiday weekend. The NASCAR drivers might be ready to put on a show, but it will be their very own race cars that will be on the track to celebrate and commemorate the country’s Independence.
Just like the Coca-Cola 600 race at Charlotte Motor Speedway during Memorial Day weekend, the race at Daytona will feature several patriotic paint schemes to celebrate July 4. Teams will be doing their part to honor the United States’ big day as well as the past and present for the troops in their own and unique ways.
Not only are teams doing their part but since the earlier portion of the season, NASCAR has been doing their own thing to honor troops with the NASCAR Salutes program. NASCAR and the various teams are doing a great job in honoring and commemorating a special date that means a lot to many.
Seeing many teams with the patriotic cars on the racetrack gives theses races, such as the Coke Zero 400, have their own special touch, as they happen to be the only races where fans get to see these type of paint schemes.
