NASCAR returned to the Pocono Raceway for the GoBowling.com 400. Kasey Kahne and his team were able to keep on their game, avoid adversity and capitalize on the teams that did not in order to win.

Jimmie Johnson started on the pole, dominated the race as they were expected too, only to blow a right front tire on lap 76 of 160. Johnson and his team battled back as they always do to have a 13th place finish. Jimmie still leads the point standing by 77 points over Clint Bowyer.  When the Chase for the Sprint Cup starts he will be seeded first tied with Matt Kenseth.

Kasey Kahne started the race an uninspiring eighteenth but was able to get to the front on lap 58 due to green flag pit stops and pit strategy. He was at or near the front of the race the rest of the day.

After Jimmie Johnson had his tire issue Kasey Kahne took over the lead then swapped it with Brad Keselowski, Martin Truex Jr. and on the final restart his team mate Jeff Gordon. Kasey ended up leading 66 laps of 160 the most in the race.

There was a late caution and Kasey was racing Jeff Gordon for the lead. Kahne said, “If I didn’t win the race today I would have felt bad, I had the best Car

Kasey Kahne with his two wins would be seeded tied for second place in the Chase for the Sprint Cup with Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch.

Jeff Gordon moved up in the standing from 10th to ninth and Greg Biffle falls to tenth in the standings a mere three points from Jeff.

Jeff Gordon, Kasey’s teammate was second, Kurt Busch third, Ryan Newman fourth and Dale Earnhardt Jr. fifth.
