This week NASCAR is at the Bull Ring of Bristol Motor Speedway for the IRWIN Tools Night Race. This high speed short track race is a favorite of many fans. In fact it is one of those tracks that are on a fans bucket list to visit in person.

Denny Hamlin won the Coors Light Pole award for this race. He will start the race up front. Bristol Motor Speedway is also a track where track position is important. 80% of the races here have been won from a top ten starting position, 33% from the front row.

Ten of the last 23 races at Bristol have been won by either Kurt Busch or Kyle Busch. Can they continue that trend? More importantly, Kyle Busch won the Camping World Truck race on Wednesday Night and the Nationwide Series race Friday night. Can he sweep the weekend?

Kurt Busch will start the race on the front row while it doesn’t look so good for his brother Kyle who spun and wrecked on his qualifying run and will start the race in last position, 43rd. The deepest in the field that a winner has started from is 38th by Elliott Sadler in 2001.

Some of those drivers who are in trouble of dropping out of the top ten and out of the Chase will start deep in the field. Brad Keselowski will start 12th, Dale Earnhardt Jr. 19th, Greg Biffle 29th, Jeff Gordon 32nd. Those guys are starting the race in some serious trouble.

As of this writing no teams have made unapproved changes to their cars and will start the race from the back.

The weather is predicted to be perfect for racing tonight so it is going to be a great race.

If you cannot get to Bristol Motor Speedway the race will be broadcast live in prime time on National TV on ABC starting at 7 PM ET.
