Paul Wolfe, Brad Keselowski Can Become Next Great Driver-Crew Chief Duo

There have been several instances over the years where a driver just clicks with a certain crew chief. It could be late in their career or early in their career. Chad Knaus and Jimmie Johnson have combined for an outstanding six NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championships. So, the Knaus and Johnson duo is sort of like the modern day Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Larry McReynolds.

Another up and coming duo that now has one championship together would be Paul Wolfe and Brad Keselowski. Keselowksi isn’t liked by a lot of people, but he’s becoming very well respected. Any champion becomes well respected after they win their first title.

Darrell Waltrip had some comments to make on the Wolfe and Keselowski pairing. It seems like Waltrip is a huge fan of Wolfe and Keselowski.

“I like a gambling man. When it comes to sitting on that pit box, I don’t want a guy who says ‘We’ll do what everybody else does.’ If you think back to the first face he and Brad (Keselowksi) won together, it was Kansas. And how did they win it? He was running gas mileage, kicking it out of gear and coasting it off into the corner. So, Paul (Wolfe) and Brad (Keselowski) – that’s the Chad (Knaus) and Jimmie (Johnson) on the horizon.”

Just as I mentioned above, Knaus and Johnson are an oustanding duo. Waltrip believes that Wolfe and Keselowksi is that type of duo that can dominate, and I agree with Waltrip. Keselowski is a great driver and Wolfe is a great crew chief. I believe we will see the both of them hoist the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship Trophy a couple of more times in the near future.
