Dale Earnhardt Jr. has always been in the spotlight and under the pressure. After all, when you are the son of a NASCAR legend, you have a lot to live up to. But since his father's death, Junior hasn't exactly been the dominant driver his fan-base makes him out to be. Off to the best start in his career, Junior has found his groove. Here are five reasons why Earnhardt Jr. will win the 2014 Spring Cup Championship.

NASCAR has once again decided to switch the format of their points system, but this time it is the most intricate system to date. With rule after rule, many have already complained about the new format before it has even been given a chance. The old format didn't exactly play into Junior's favor, but with a win and two second-place finishes already, the new format may help him.

After a long win-less drought and an extensive resume of runner-up finishes, Junior finally has shaken the monkey off his back. NASCAR's most popular driver started the 2014 season winning the sport's biggest race, the Daytona 500. It was Junior's second 500 victory, but more importantly, it gave him confidence that he finally broke through. It also means a bit more because it is Daytona.

3. Consistency

It might be that he has become wiser with age or it could be that pretty little girlfriend of his, but whatever it is, Junior has emerged as a new driver over the last half a year. He ended the 2013 year with two consecutive top-5 finishes and has continued that success into this season. Never before has Junior been this consistent, especially on this many different tracks.

2. Chemistry

Dale Jr. has never really built a solid relationship with his crew chief. He has seen success with Tony Eury Senior and Junior, but it is different when it's family. They fought all the time like families do. Finally, Steve Letarte has been able to bring out the true driver in Junior. The two as a pair might not have piled up the victories, but their consistency and chemistry with one another is what will bring a title.

Before the 2014 season started, Letarte announced that this would be his last year as a crew chief. After this year, he would be trading in his seat on the pit-box for a commentating position. Junior and Letarte have both expressed the strong desire to accomplish goals that neither have reached. For each of them, the No. 1 goal is a championship. With Letarte all-in, Junior is too and that is why this is their year.
