With the Chase to the Sprint Cup heating up and only one race before the field of contenders is cut down to 12, here are five bold predictions for the reminder of the 2014 NASCAR season.

It has been roughly a month and a half since Tony Stewart struck and killed driver Kevin Ward Jr. on an Upstate New York dirt track. The District Attorney handling the case decided to hand over the evidence to a Grand Jury to make the final decision. Here is my prediction: Stewart will face charges. Whether or not the charges are serious, it is hard to say, but he will face some sort of legal repercussions.

The Chase field is chopped full of hot heads and drivers who do not know exactly how to handle their tempers. From Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano to the Busch brothers, someone will lose their cool. We have seen Keselowski throw multiple temper tantrums over his career and the Busch brothers are known for their anger. With so much pressure, it's only a matter of time until someone snaps.

Hendrick Motorsports has had a heck of season, compiling 10 wins and placing all four drivers in the Chase. Jeff Gordon has proven he can still win, Jimmie Johnson is still Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. has broken through and found his dominant side. When the Chase reaches its apex at Homestead and only four drivers remain in contention, at least two of them will be from Hendrick Motorsports.

2. Talladega and Martinsville Are Wild Cards

When the Series reaches Talladega, four more drivers will be up for elimination. Unless you have won one of the first two races in this section and secured your spot in the next round, you are far from safe. All it takes is a little mistake and "The Big One" to ruin all hope. Follow up this wild card with Martinsville and predicting who will still be in contention is next to impossible. Anyone can come out on top.

1. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Will be Crowned Champion

Having one of the best seasons of his career, why shouldn't Earnhardt Jr. cap it off with his first Sprint Cup Title? He started the season winning his second Daytona 500 and swept the Poconos. From short tracks to the speedways, Junior has never been this consistent in his entire career. With this being Steve Letarte's last season, my number one bold prediction is Little E finally hoisting the Cup over his head in November.
