Good News In Dallas: Dirk Resting, Road Trip Looming
Two of the best possible things for the Dallas Mavericks are happening right now. One is that they are in the middle of a stretch of three days off between Saturday’s loss to the Orlando Magic and Wednesday’s contest in Indiana. The other is that their next four games are on the road.
The Mavs have lost five of their last seven games with Dirk Nowitzki sitting out, and the fact that they aren’t playing games is great news for them. Since is no specific timetable for his return date, the fewer games they are playing the better with him getting ample time to rest his injured knee.
Even with the injury to Dirk, Dallas still holds the best road record in the NBA by two games over the San Antonio Spurs. Their next four games are road games, including one against the Spurs who they beat earlier this season in San Antonio. Nowitzki could certainly be back in that one and his presence could help close the gap between the two teams atop the Southwest Division.
