Game 71: Thunder v. Timberwolves
The Thunder hosted the Timberwolves Friday night, as Minnesota was without Kevin Love.
The Thunder got off to their usual good start, scoring in bunches. But Minnesota kept pace, and the Thunder led by 3 after 1. In the second quarter, the Thunder opened up the lead, using small runs to extend the lead, while playing good defense to keep Minnesota from closing the gap. Thunder led by 11 at half. In the third quarter, the Thunder struggled, while the Timberwolves climbed back into the game. They closed it to within2 , but the Thunder scored some quick points at the end to take a 6 point lead. In the fourth quarter, the Thunder pulled away early and maintained a double-digit lead for most of the period. The starters were pulled with just over a minute left, and the Thunder earn an 8-point victory.
Seven players scored in double figures for the Thunder, led by Kevin Durant with 23 points. Russell Westbrook added 19 points, and Nazr Mohammed, in his best showing since joining the Thunder, added 14 points and 7 rebounds. Hosting division rival Portland on Sunday. Thunder Up!!!
