It was the perfect setting with Elton Brand and the Sixers holding the sixth seed. The opportunity to clinch a playoff spot in the balance. Philly wasn’t planning on letting the celebration go on another day.
The Sixers took sole possession of their destiny and the victim of all this? The Nets, losing in a blowout 115-90 on the road. The Nets road record? An embarrassing one now losing their 33rd road game and counting.
Sometimes watching games like this only makes you cringe! Wishing the bleeding stopped already but the show must go on.
Well at least for another seven games or so.
Thaddeus Young was the top scorer with 22 points and Elton Brand finished with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Jrue Holiday filled the stat sheet with 17 points and 7 assists.
The Nets played so poorly they were blown out in the first half down 17. They allowed 60 points in the two quarters alone.
Oh, the pounding didn’t stop there and well any chance of heroics this time was an afterthought.
The team was no where to be found. They might as well should’ve not shown up.
Deron Williams had another poor shooting night. 4 points and seven assists? Brook Lopez had 11 points as for Anthony Murrow? Did anyone know he was on the floor? That’s right he scored five points.
The Nets top scorer? Brendan Wright we wouldn’t have guessed it. Nice to know Avery Johnson finally decided to put him on the floor to perform.
Wait Kris Humphries was no where to be found. That was the reason. A sprained ankle suffered in the Knicks game contributed to his absence.
The Nets take on LeBron and Company the Miami Heat. Sparks are going fly aren’t they? Its only going to get more painful from here.
