Game 72: Thunder v. Trail Blazers
The Thunder hosted division rival Portland Sunday.
The first quarter, both teams got off to a slow start, struggling on offense. Thunder led by 1 after 1. In the second quarter, the Thunder exploded for 34 points in the quarter to take a 14 point halftime lead. In the third quarter, the Thunder were unable to stop Gerald Wallace, as the Thunder struggled on both ends of the court. Thunder led by 6 after 3. In the fourth quarter, the Trail Blazers closed the lead to 2, but Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant hit big shots late, and free throws sealed the game for the Thunder, a 9-point victory.
Westbrook had 28, Durant added 21, and Serge Ibaka added 18. Most importantly, the Thunder make the playoffs for the second straight year. Closing in on a division title. Host Golden State on Tuesday. Thunder Up!!!
