Wolves get Hit with the Polish Hammer, More Rubio Speculation
The Wolves played their first of two remaining games against the Phoenix Suns, again without the services of Kevin Love . It’s really no surprise at this point that they lost 108-98 , but the fact that they let this guy:
do it to us… He looks like some sort of character from World of Warcraft. The Timberwolves were no match for his magical sledge hammer and decided to let him go for 20 points. Beasley and company gave a strong effort but it was just enough to lose, and (with a little help from the Cavs) give us the worst record in the league. Yes. The worst record. In…the…league…. Though, it makes no difference because, as I’m sure I’ll write in more detail at a later date, I believe the draft is rigged and the Wolves likely won’t end up with the first pick.
However, if I am wrong and the lottery balls somehow bounce our way, that is going to make for some interesting debate on who to take with the first pick if Ricky Rubio is actually coming over. Otherwise if we take Irving, we can expect to hear the 5,000,000 point guard jokes come out again (not that I don’t think we should take him if we have the first pick).
Speaking of Rubio, towards the end of the game, one of the Suns announcers said something along the lines of (A.K.A. this is not an exact quote) “Rubio will be here (Minnesota). I have my sources, I don’t want to name names, but the “higher ups” have told me he will be here in a Timberwolves uniform next season”. I’m not sure that’s worth much, but that’s the first time I’ve heard someone not connected to the Wolves organization say something about it.
