Every Wednesday, Sachin will post his weekly fantasy basketball advice.
There have been some huge injuries to key players as of late. Many fantasy teams are suffering as a result, while some teams are laughing at the loss and picking up some gems off the waiver wire. Here are some players that can salvage your injuries, and possibly your season.
Andrea Bargnani, C/PF, Toronto Raptors
I have Bargnani in 3 fantasy leagues, and the fact that he’s out indefinitely is tough to bare with. However, the scoring load is being distributed more evenly, making Jerryd Bayless a hot pick-up. Amir Johnson is also logging huge minutes, and Aaron Gray starts at center for anyone in a deeper league.
Chauncey Billups, G, Los Angeles Clippers
Chauncey was playing so well before he tore his Achilles, side-lining him for the rest of the year. However, Mo Williams will get an instant boost. Caron Butler will also likely log heavier minutes, and for deeper leagues, Randy Foye should see a nice boost as well.
Danilo Gallinari, F, Denver Nuggets
Gallinari is expected to miss at least a month with an ankle injury. However, Rudy Fernandez is the only benefiting player worth looking at here.
Carmelo Anthony, F, New York Knicks
Anthony has had a tough season. He’s struggled from the field mightily, and this could be due to his multiple injuries. His new groin injury will sideline him for around two weeks. Jeremy Lin is worth a look in all leagues, and Landry Fields in deeper leagues.
That’s it for Rant’s Fantasy Basketball King. If you have any fantasy questions, leave them in the comment section and they will be answered next week.
