Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose Will Start Against Atlanta Hawks
It has been confirmed Derrick Rose will start Monday’s matinee against the Atlanta Hawks after missing the last five games with back spasms. The Chicago Bulls a 3-2 record over that span and need Rose back desperately as the Miami Heat have taken a half game lead over them in the Eastern Conference.
Bulls general manager Gar Forman was confident Monday morning that Rose would be able to play in the President’s Day matinee game on ESPN.
“As long as everything goes good once he gets on the floor,” Forman said on “The Waddle & Silvy Show” on ESPN 1000. “He looked a lot better yesterday, and he’s pain free. So as long as he’s feeling OK there’s a chance he’ll be on the floor today.”
Chicago’s C.J. Watson (head) and Rip Hamilton (groin) were both ruled out for the contest.
In 23 games this season, Rose is averaging 22.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game.
