The Indiana Pacers hosted the Charlotte Bobcats Sunday afternoon and overwhelmed the visiting team 108-73. The winning team’s score was tied for their second-highest point total of the season. The 35-point win also marked Indiana’s largest margin of victory so far this year. In their one previous meeting this season, the Pacers defeated the Bobcats 99-77, on January 7th.
Charlotte’s 73 points on Sunday was the fifth time this season that they have scored less than 75 points in a game. The Bobcats fell behind early, trailing the Pacers 21-2, before fighting back by scoring ten points in a row. Charlotte trailed 24-12 after the first quarter, and never closed the deficit any further.
Indiana was looking for their second win in a row, after losing five games straight, and six out of seven. The Pacers defeated the New Jersey Nets 93-88 last Thursday night, finishing up their third game in three nights, and their ninth game in a span of two weeks. Against Charlotte on Sunday, the Indiana lead grew to 44 points in the fourth quarter. There were no lead changes. Once scoring began, the game was never tied.
These two teams will play again this Thursday, in Charlotte.
