Indiana Pacers Fall Short Against Miami Heat in Overtime

By J.M. Nicholas

The Indiana Pacers started off two back-to-back games in Florida with an overtime loss in Miami on Saturday night. Indiana makes the short trip to Orlando Sunday, where they will try to avoid a fourth-straight loss against Eastern conference playoff contenders.

The Pacers led 61-60 entering the fourth quarter, but lost in overtime, as Dwyane Wade hit the game winning shot o.1 seconds remaining. The loss was Indiana’s first overtime defeat out of three this season, and only the second time the team had lost after taking a lead into the fourth quarter.

The Heat are 3-0 against the Pacers this season. Saturday’s 93-91 win was by far the closest match-up between the teams so far. Miami defeated Indiana 105-90 on Valentine’s day, and 118-83 on January 4th.

Wade and LeBron James led the Heat with 28 and 27 points. Their 55 combined points accounted for over half of Miami’s total score. These two teams will face off again in Indiana on March 26th.
