Ford also released a statement through the Spurs that referred to the injuries, including the most recent a “stinger” he suffered on March 7 against the New York Knicks.

“While this was a tough decision to make, it is what is best for me and my family at this time,” Ford said. “Regardless of what the future holds, I will carry the experiences, the friendships and the memories with me forever.”

Head Coach Gregg Popovich congratulated Ford and supported his decision.

“I congratulate him on all that he has achieved as a player and fully support the difficult decision he was forced to make,” he said.

Sad to hear about such a young player but it is part of the game. It just reinforces that you can’t take a day for granted because before you know it, it’s gone!

Stephen Curry Puts On A Clinic Against Spurs

NBA fans and media alike were incredibly excited for the first meeting of the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors this season, and many expected an uber-competitive game to take place on Monday night. If that floater wasn't epic enough, in the second-half Curry added this drive in which he pulled the magic out on Jonathon Simmons.

Watch Spurs HC Popovich Pull Fast One On Parker

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has become synonymous for his cold shoulder handling of the media, but he does have a wry sense of humor on occasion. This little clip is hilarious how he just messes with Tony Parker. I couldn't stop laughing.

Barkley Calls Leonard Best Player In The World

Kawhi Leonard is one of the best young players in the NBA today and there's no disputing that. Charles Barkley however, believes that Leonard is the best player in the entire world and there has never been a more ridiculous statement to come out of his mouth. If you take Leonard away from the Spurs, they would find a way to be competitive. Take LeBron James or Stephen Curry away from their teams, and they don't have a chance.
