Boston Celtics Paul Pierce Lights Up New York

By Rob Nelson

The Boston Celtics lost a tough game tot he New York Knicks last night. However, the good news is there was a silver lining. The silver lining is the Celtics got a great game from a man that they are going to need to be great in order to make a serious run at a title in Paul Pierce’s 43 point explosion against the Knicks.

Pierce was an absolute load for any of the helpless Knick defenders. Pierce’s mentality was to attack all night and move. He attacked the basket and made Carmelo Anthony look foolish most of the night. He would finish strong after blowing by Anthony or he would get the foul call. The aggressive nature led to Pierce seeing eighteen trips to the charity stripe.

Pierce would move well without the ball and get open for his shots all night. He was four of six from beyond the arc simply by moving to get to his spot and being ready to shoot. Pierce would move well and get the rotations that he needed as well. Pierce matched up on a smaller guard that he can shoot over like Baron Davis is automatic points.

The Eastern Conference is littered with teams with alpha scorers. The Bulls have Derrick Rose. The Knicks have Carmelo Anthony. The Heat have Dwayne Wade and LeBron James for about 36 minutes a night. The Pacers have Danny Granger. This means Boston will need Paul Pierce to be the scorer that he can be to help off set these guys scoring exploits. The great news is he has been showing this the entire second half and the 43 point effort shows that he is not slowing down. Remember Go Green or Go Home!!!!!!!
