It has been reported that Bosh has gone home to be with his wife of almost one year as she prepares to give birth to their first child. The Heat found out late Wednesday evening after arriving in New York that Bosh had to go back to Miami.
Earlier in the week Bosh told reporters he had a beeper so his wife could be in contact with him at all times and that he would play until the time comes.
“I’ve got a beeper, so when it goes off, I’ll be ready,” Bosh said. “It’s an exciting time, I’m trying to compete for a championship and prepare for new life. It is a busy time in the Bosh household.”
There has been no official news from the Heat regarding Bosh’s status for Thursday night’s game. As of now the team will have to wait to hear from Bosh on whether he will be able to return.
Miami will need all the help they can get as the Knicks prepare to hold their ground at Madison Square Garden. I fully expect Game 3 to be a lot closer than the first two games of the series were. The Knicks simply play better when they are in front of their energetic fans. Not to mention, Spike Lee will be sitting courtside harassing anyone he can a la Reggie Miller in the late 1990’s.
New York has not gotten out of the first round of the playoffs since the 1999-00 season in which they lost in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. Since then they have lost in the first round three times and did not qualify for the postseason the other eight seasons.
Bosh has 30 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, two blocks, one steal and is shooting 52.6 percent from the field in the first two games of the series.
