Boston Celtics Rajon Rondo Continues Dominant Post Season

Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has never lacked confidence in his abilities to dominate a basketball game. Any time a player has called himself the best point guard in the league, you know confidence is not a problem. The great news for the Boston Celtics is Rajon Rondo thus far in the playoffs is playing like he is indeed the best point guard in the NBA and his dominance is a big reason why Boston owns a commanding 3-1 lead in the opening round series against the Atlanta Hawks.

Last night was a typical game for Rondo this playoff. He orchestrated the offense perfectly. Rondo would find the right man open all night as Boston was shooting at one point 67 percent from the floor. Rondo knew who was hot and made sure they had the ball in their hands ready to shoot. He would hit Paul Pierce in transition for the three ball, drive and then kick to Brandon Bass for the open jump shot, and of course hit KG in the paint or for his fifteen foot jump shot. rondo even kept the turnovers down with only one miscue the entire game. Rondo ended up with 16 assists for his efforts.

Rondo also knew when to call his own number. He would hit his jump shot with ease all night including a dagger three that just seemed the equivalent of kicking an already beaten man. The Hawks defense could not keep up with him or contain him as he drove into the teeth of their defense and hit layup after layup. Twenty points from a guy that also racked up 16 assists is amazing. It is even more amazing with a very efficient 8-11 shooting and only two free throws.

Rondo also played solid defense the entire way. Jeff Teague was a non factor the entire game as Rondo smothered him. Rondo would also rotate well on switches and jump the passing lanes. His efforts landed him 3 steals.

Boston is a game away from eliminating the Hawks and Rondo’s dominance is a big reason why. When the spotlight shines bright so does Rondo. Atlanta like most teams has zero answer for Boston’s floor general when he is firing on all four cylinders. I look for another big game on Tuesday from Rondo as Boston closes out the Hawks. Remember Go Green Or Go Home!!!!!!!
