Charles Barkley Wins The Shirt Off Against Shaquille O’Neal On Inside The NBA

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zYno9hjaC8

Tuesday night marked the first showing in the Charles Barkley versus Shaquille O’Neal shirt off contest.  To decide the winner, Inside the NBA turned to Twitter for some help.  Wednesday night, the winner was announced.  Charles Barkley was the winner with 53 percent of the vote.  Big ups to Charles Barkley.

Even though only one of the guys could technically win the contest, I think they both.  Both men lost a lot of weight and they look to be in a lot better shape than I would have guessed.  Shaq’s painted on abs may have been a bit over the top, but it was part of the comedic side of the situation.  Either way, both guys did a great job losing a bunch of weight.

Obesity is a problem in the United States.  Having Shaq and Chuck do this may not get a lot of people convinced to lose weight, but anyone they influence is a big plus.  Sometimes people just need that little extra push to start dieting and exercising.  If this odd contest convinced some people to do that, then it was a great success.

I’ve said before that this could go farther than basketball.  Imagine our favorite football stars or baseball players doing this.  It could spread the message of losing weight and living healthy to even more people.  That is not exactly a bad thing.  The more people that are in shape, the better that they feel.

Archie Goodwin Hits Epic Game-Winning Three

The Phoenix Suns are legit playing without five or six important members of their rotation currently, so guys who don't normally make the highlight reels are getting an incredible amount of playing time. This is the case for Archie Goodwin, who started at point guard in Brandon Knight's absence and hit this improbable three with time running out to cement a 98-95 win. Things haven't been go swimmingly in Phoenix this season, so it was awesome to see Suns fans and players alike enjoy this hard-fought win.

Rondo Perfectly Guesses Atlanta's Final Play

Say what you will about Rajon Rondo, but there's no way to deny that he's an incredibly smart basketball player. Last evening against the Atlanta Hawks, the Sacramento Kings were up by three points with 1.9 seconds left, and Atlanta had one final possession to tie things up. Rondo immediately recognized the play the Hawks had drawn up and directed DeMarcus Cousins to an empty space on the floor where the Hawks were planning to send a player to take a three. Rondo's smarts made the Hawks botch the play, and the Kings held serve for the win.

Paul Millsap Dunks All Over John Henson

Paul Millsap showed zero mercy on poor John Henson during this play. Hopefully Henson will be able to get over the traumatic experience.
