Did Kobe Bryant Choke In Game 2 Against The Oklahoma City Thunder?

By Riley Schmitt

Kobe Bryant is one of the best players in NBA history, but the Los Angeles Lakers guard played awful down the stretch in Game 2 as the Oklahoma City Thunder took a 2-0 lead in the series.  It is a hard subject to talk about, but is the magic of Kobe vanishing?  Did Kobe Bryant choke in Game 2?  Let us take a look.

First things first, Steve Blake clanked a wide open three to win the game.  That has nothing to do with a Kobe Bryant choke.  However, the Black Mamba did not play good down the stretch against the Thunder.  He shot 9 of 25, which is a pretty bad 36 percent.  We all know that Kobe is a high volume shooter.  He is going to have nights like this, but his last couple of minutes were bad.

In the last four minutes of the game, LA had a five point lead that increased to seven at one point.   How did Kobe do during this stretch?  Well, Kobe went 0-3 with two turnovers.  Not exactly star material down the stretch.  However, I would bet you a lot of money that he slides by with no blame.

I know that I roasted LeBron James about choking Tuesday night, but I hold all the stars to the same level.  Wednesday night, we witnessed a Kobe Bryant choke.  Plain and simple.  Lakers will get mad and complain, but facts are facts.  Kobe Bryant is human and he simply choked in Game 2.  Things happen and he will bounce back, but this was a choke.
