Boston Celtics Rajon Rondo And Kevin Garnett Give Boston A Fighting Chance
The Miami Heat are and should be favored in the upcoming NBA Eastern Conference Finals over the Boston Celtics. The Heat are the two seed, have star power, and play defense. Miami’s two studs LeBron James and Dwayne Wade showed there muscle and that they can surprisingly play together by powering the Heat by Indiana after some early hiccups in the series. However, despite all this Boston has a fighter’s chance in the series because of Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett.
The fact is Miami has two huge weaknesses at both point guard and center. Their opponents in Boston have two of the best in the NBA at those positions in Rajon Rondo and KG. The fact is no one on the Heat is going to be able to contain KG in the post. The fact is KG also can exploit Miami’s defense by drawing them out to cover him due to the fact that he can hit the fifteen foot jump shot. This makes it very tough for Miami to clog the driving lanes to the basket giving Boston some hope for offense. KG is also a great defender that can control the paint on the defensive end. KG will also be able to help defend more without having to guard Chris Bosh and Miami not having an offensive answer in the middle.
The biggest advantage for Boston is the fact Miami has zero answer for Rajon Rondo. Rondo like LeBron can control the tempo of a game and thus steal a win by himself. Rondo has made a living this season torching the Heat by getting into the paint whenever he wants and wrecking havoc on the Heat’s defense. If Rondo did not penetrate and score than he found the open man for an easy basket.
The bottom line is I expect Miami to win this series in six games or seven. Boston is banged up with Ray Allen being hurt and the crushing loss of the Dwayne Wade stopper in Avery Bradley. However, Miami would be wise not to sleep on Boston because unlike Indiana, Boston has match ups they can exploit and they can put them away. If Boston does pull off the upset than it will be Rondo and KG showing the way. Remember Go Green Or Go Home!!!!!!!
