Pau Gasol has supposedly said he would want to be traded to the Chicago Bulls if he’s traded at all. This is going to take an interesting turn as the offseason heats up because Derrick Rose supposedly asked the Bulls to trade for Gasol at the deadline.
If the Bulls trade for Gasol, who would they trade to get him? The Los Angeles Lakers wouldn’t do a Carlos Boozer deal straight, and the Bulls shouldn’t trade Luol Deng to get him. A third team likely would have to get involved and it could range for virtually anyone.
Why shouldn’t the Bulls trade Luol Deng for him? Pretty simple if you ask me. That would give the Bulls 3 big men, and lose a big small forward who guards LeBron James pretty well.
If we were talking Dwight Howard, that’s a different story all together, but Pau Gasol is not Dwight Howard.
I don’t see how the Bulls will make something work as they’re pretty adament about not trading Luol Deng, and in my opinion, that’s the main piece the Lakers will want in return.
It’ll be interesting seeing what the Chicago Bulls do this offseason as something should be done.
We’ll find out.
