NBA Rumors: Charlotte Bobcats Could Trade Second Pick For Thunder Guard James Harden

Tis the season for NBA rumors.  The Charlotte Bobcats figure to have the most rumors surrounding them as they are stuck with the second pick.  Any player they could get there probably does not help them.  However, rumor has it that they might trade the pick.  James Harden of the Oklahoma City Thunder could be the initial target.

One source said that Oklahoma City’s James Harden could be in play due to the Thunder’s salary situation following next season. GM Sam Presti already has Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook on the books for more than $29 million next season — and both Harden and Serge Ibaka will command huge contracts after the 2012-13 campaign.

The move would be extremely shocking but it could be great for both teams.  The Thunder could easily grab Brad Beal with the second pick, while the Bobcats a potential star to build around.  I doubt the Thunder do that trade if they win the title this year, but you never know.

Beal would fit the Thunder MO of having a good to great shooter coming off the bench to add more firepower to the offense.  They have to decide if they want Ibaka or Harden to remain a member of the team.  If you can guarantee yourselves a chance at Beal, you can move Harden.  I think Beal can be an incredible piece on a title contender and he would have plenty of open looks, thanks to KD and Westbrook.

The NBA rumors are only just beginning.

Archie Goodwin Hits Epic Game-Winning Three

The Phoenix Suns are legit playing without five or six important members of their rotation currently, so guys who don't normally make the highlight reels are getting an incredible amount of playing time. This is the case for Archie Goodwin, who started at point guard in Brandon Knight's absence and hit this improbable three with time running out to cement a 98-95 win. Things haven't been go swimmingly in Phoenix this season, so it was awesome to see Suns fans and players alike enjoy this hard-fought win.

Rondo Perfectly Guesses Atlanta's Final Play

Say what you will about Rajon Rondo, but there's no way to deny that he's an incredibly smart basketball player. Last evening against the Atlanta Hawks, the Sacramento Kings were up by three points with 1.9 seconds left, and Atlanta had one final possession to tie things up. Rondo immediately recognized the play the Hawks had drawn up and directed DeMarcus Cousins to an empty space on the floor where the Hawks were planning to send a player to take a three. Rondo's smarts made the Hawks botch the play, and the Kings held serve for the win.
