Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees has certainly been in the shoes of LeBron James of the Miami Heat. Both players have felt the criticism of never winning a ring and it took Rodriguez until 2009 until he was able to get his first one. That is why he is pulling for James and the Heat to win this year.
Sometimes I feel so bad for him,” Rodriguez said. “I feel like I feel his pain more than anybody….Advertisement
“LeBron is definitely under the microscope,” Rodriguez said. “He is going to be judged on whether he wins a championship. So, yeah, I’m really hoping he gets this one behind him, and I’m cheering for the Heat, but ’09 was a career changer for me.”
I honestly respect Alex Rodriguez for this statement. It almost seems that James has no one in his corner and everyone can not wait to pile on him. They refuse to see how good that James really is and they instantly harp on him for not having a ring.
Once Alex Rodriguez picked up his first ring, he instantly had a weight lifted off of his shoulders. No one could question if he was going to be the best player to never win a ring. It had to be one of the greatest moments of his life. I think it is time for LeBron to join that club. If A-Rod gets his wish, we will no longer call LeBron James the greatest player to never win a ring.
